Leader Demonstration – Air vs Water

Resources

• two balloons
• two candles
• water

Instructions

Fill one balloon half full of water and blow up the other balloon. Both balloons should be of the same size.
Light the two candles and separate them.
Gather the Ladybirds around the table so that they can all see.
Hold the two balloons to the candles (not too close) and see how they react to the heat.

Note for Leader: The air balloon will pop and the water balloon won’t.
