Introduction
To teach the Ladybirds the importance of team work to complete a game. This game is called 'Tree, Rock, River, Bridge'.
Instructions
• Divide the Ladybirds into groups of four and explain how the game is played. They need to figure out between them who is going to be the tree, rock etc. Some of the smaller Ladybirds may be better being the rock as the rock will need to be jumped over!
• See if the Ladybirds can work out who should be each part. A rock, river, bridge or tree? Which one will they be?
• To play, get the teams of four to line up.
• The first person in line runs one metre and stands with her arms in the air. She is the tree.
• The second person in line runs around the tree, runs one metre and curls up on the floor. She is the rock.
• The third person in line runs around the tree, jumps over the rock, runs one metre and lies face down on the floor. She is the river.
• The fourth person runs around the tree, jumps over the rock and the river, runs one metre and stands with her legs apart. She is the bridge.
• The first person who was the tree, then jumps over the rock and the river and under the bridge and stands with her arms in the air.
The first team to have their tree standing straight for the second time is the winner.
