Endangered animals at home

Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK

Description

Beavers do research at home, record 5 facts about an endangered animal of their choice and draw/paint or make a mask/costume/model of it ahead of a virtual meeting - during which they will reveal their facts and creations to the Colony who will try and guess what endangered animal is being described.

Resources

Animal books and/or access to the internet at home.

Don't necessarily restrict yourself to exotic wildlife - sadly there are plenty of endangered animals in the UK to choose from too!

Card/paper, paint/pens etc. (junk? plasticine? fabric?) for pictures, masks, models or costumes.

Instructions

Beavers given a weeks notice ahead of the next meeting to do their research at home, using books or the internet as they wish or are able, to find out some animals that are endangered before choosing one to learn/record 5 facts about and then either draw or paint it, or make a mask/costume of it, BEFORE our virtual meeting.

During our virtual meeting each Beaver (and Leader!) will take it in turns to reveal each fact and their costume/mask/picture to the Colony and we will see how many we can guess correctly, how quickly it is guessed and who will be first to guess what endangered animal is being described!

Running time of 90 minutes includes fact finding and making time at home AND presentation of the same in the virtual meeting.
