Book reader - badges at home
Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
Badge pack which I have adapted from some other leaders resources (thank you to those who created these resources) to enable cubs to do the entire book reader badge at home. This includes two resource sheets and instructions for the cubs to film themselves talking about their favourite book (to be inclusive they could also draw a picture or write about the book).
Resources
This can all be done online and uploaded to the parent portal - cubs will need a phone to be able to film their book report and parents support to upload to badges at home
Instructions
Upload the following message to badges at home under instructions (feel free to edit to suit your pack), also include the 2 worksheets:
Hi Cubs, the book reader activities are great to do at home and its a simple way for you to earn a badge.
To do the badge you need to:
1) Read 6 books, one of which has to be non-fiction and write them on the work sheet (see attachments). Now pick 3 of the books (1 must be non-fiction) and either draw a picture, write a bit about them or film yourself talking about them. Make sure you upload your evidence on OSM so we can see.
2) Fill out the worksheet about caring for your books
3) Find the 4 words on the worksheet in a dictionary and also find their synonyms.
4) Write, draw a picture or film yourself talking about your favourite book. Tell us about the book, what was good and bad, did you enjoy reading it, who was your favourite character, did you learn any new words?
