Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
Turn your zoom meeting into a virtual walk. At each obstacle in the song/story Beavers face a challenge of their own.
Beavers will need an A4 sheet of paper and hat/gloves/scarf and carrot (or similar shaped item)
Adult or older sibling help is useful for the origami task
Resources
We're going on a Bear Hunt story book or song words. Here's Michael Rosen reading it on YouTube Kids (no Ads, Beaver friendly) https://www.youtubekids.com/watch?v=0gyI6ykDwds&hl=en-GB
Minibeast Who am I? cards (Grass challenge)
Origami boat instructions (River challenge)
Footprints powerpoint (Mud challenge)
Leaf Identification powerpoint (Forest challenge)
Instructions
Read the story or sing the song.
Pause at each obstacle and set the appropriate challenge
1. Grass: Read some (or all) of the who am I? riddles and ask Beavers to shout out or type in chat the answers. Reveal correct answer and interesting fact.
2. River: Demonstrate how to create the boat step by step (this is better with adult help)
3. Mud: Share your screen to go through the powerpoint as a slide show (make sure this is saved with the thumbnails out of sight). Beavers shout out or type their guesses
4. Forest: Share your screen to go through the powerpoint. This time Beavers have to perform the matching action to their guess.
5. Snowstorm: Beavers dress up as snowmen.
6. Cave: Beavers must shout "Run!" as loudly as possible and recall the obstacles in the right (reverse) order, taking off their snowmen costume at the first one.
