Description

Scouts are told to come to Scouts with a talent to show, i.e. a talent show. When arrive, put into patrols to produce a 5 minute show using the talents of each Scout.

This can work using video conferences in virtual scouting.

Instructions

Week before ensure each Scout needs to bring some form of talent to show off, e.g. playing the piano, magic trick, gymnastics. They believe they coming this week to perform their talent in a talent show.

When the Scouts arrive, reset the objective.

In your patrol you must use talents from each of the Scouts in your patrol to produce a 5 minute production.

Your first task is to view each talent.

Then as a Patrol work what the tasks should be, working through them, with the last one being 5 minute production to the rest of the troop.

You have 45 minutes.

This could work with virtual scouting.

The Scouts could be put into breakout rooms to practice, then brought back together for the performance.

Patrols to be scored on:
- Originality of talent
- Quality of the production
- Team work

After the performances, discussion on how they broke down the task, what they think went well, and what would they do differently if they did it again.
