Description
Or 'Would I Lie to You?'
A simple activity that's great for around the campfire, or online, and can be used if other activities go quickly and you have time to kill.
Resources
Core activity needs no equipment at all.
Can be done over Zoom or other online meeting tool
Instructions
Simply ask each Explorer / Scout to make three statements: two truths about themselves, their family, etc, and one lie. Mix it up (ie: don't always leave the lie until last - people will know!!)
The challenges to these statements from all other explorers can either be structured (like a court room) or chaos (a free for all) - sometimes the latter is more fun.
Appoint a judge to declare which one has the most votes as a lie and see if you can catch each other out.
Alternative approaches added below, for use if doing this as a team building challenge/or as a base for an incident hike
*Scoring*:- you score the team for:
1. the amount of correct answers worked out/ got away with
2. style- did they carry of the lies with panache
3. inventiveness of the lies
4. bonus points for confessing to cringeworthy truths
*Rest break option**
This base could be used as a rest break/lunchbreak base activity, as it's good to do while participants sit and rest. Either they provide their own stacks, or the leaders hand out snacks (allergen checks taken as read...)
