Resources

Props (anything from ordinary objects to unfamiliar things)
Pen & Paper

Instructions

5 mins
Divide the cubs into small groups based on how many leaders you have. Each group needs a leader.

Ask the cubs to pick one item from their home (remote scouting) or the hut
OR
Provide the Cubs with a bag of random, pre-selected props.

(Each cub should have a prop but the activity can still work if there are less props than cubs)

10 mins
Get the cubs to come up with a story based on their props. Start by getting them to say a line or two each with their prop, and move on to the next cub and prop to continue the story.

Leaders can write each cubs lines down once the group have developed a story they like.

5 mins
Get the cubs to practise their story. Encourage them to be confident and animated in their language and presentation of their stories.

10 mins
Ask each group to present their story to the rest of the group.
