Instructions

Connect:
'What it means for me' - we had a discussion on what are the positive and negative impacts the internet has and made a list.

'Best of the Web' - we made a list of websites that we use on a regular basis and talked about why we like them and what we use them for (eg schoolwork, music, social networking etc).

Protect:
'Perfect Password' - discussed ways to protect yourself online and importance of not sharing passwords. We gave the girls a word and had them create their own password, using a mix of capital letters, small letters, numbers and symbols.

'Avatars' - girls drew their own avatars.

Respect:
'Cyber-bullying' - we had a discussion on what cyber-bullying is and what to do if it happens.

'Digital Footprint' - explained what a digital footprint meant. Draw a large footprint outline on a piece of paper and, over the week, every time you do something online, write it down on your footprint.

Recap of what was discussed in the Connect, Protect and Respect sections and then have the girls make an Internet Safety Promise
