Instructions
IMPORTANT: This will only fully work with a newish version of PowerPoint with Macros enabled. Not all features will work if you use anything other than PowerPoint for Windows/Mac with Macros enabled. Sorry!
1. Download the attached 'Scout Fortunes OSM Version.pptm' file.
2. Click 'Enable Editing' and 'Enable Content'
3. Run the SlideShow. You can use the 'Set Team Names' button to set the names of your teams and the 'Reset Board Totals' button to reset the scores for each round.
4. Click Play to start!
Split the group into two 'families'.
For each round, choose a member of each team to compete for 'control' of the round.
Click anywhere on the slide to reveal the prompt for that round. The first person to 'buzz in' by shouting their name gets to answer first.
Use the attached leaders answer sheet to check their answers. If their answer is on the sheet, click on the correct position on the board to reveal it.
If they get the top answer they get to choose whether to 'play' the round with their team, or 'pass' the round to the opposing team.
If they don't get the top answer, the other player has a chance to answer. If their answer is higher on the board, they get to choose whether to 'play' or 'pass'.
Once a playing team has been determined, go around the team asking each person for their answer. Check if their answer is on the board using the leaders answer sheet. If it is, click on the correct position of the board to reveal the answer and points. You can add the points to the round total at the bottom of the slide by clicking the number of points.
If an incorrect answer is given, click on the team name to remove a life. To remove another life, click on the cross from the previous life lost. If they lose all 3 lives before they complete the board, the other team gets the chance to 'steal'.
To steal, the opposing team must find an answer anywhere on the board. The team can confer about this answer and you should take the final answer given by the team captain/patrol leader.
Click on the points to add them to the total at the bottom of the slide. Make a note of the totals earned by each team for each round and add them together to find the overall winner at the end.
