Description

Easy activity learning to make a soap
This is a great method for converting an ordinary soap bar into one that's on a rope, great for those camping trips.
The method can also be used to convert old soap bars (Those small pieces left over and often thrown away) into a new soap bar once they've been properly dried.


Resources

Minimum Requirements:
Soap Bars ( You can also use Soap Flakes, but don't use washing Machine Soap!!!!)
Hot water (10ml per standard soap bar)
Kitchen Graters
Bowls
Small diameter rope

Additional:
Wax Paper
Various small hard forms (Example: Steel Cupcake Pans)
Press screw or large mallet

Instructions

1. Grate the soap bars into fine powder using the kitchen grater into the bowl.
2. Add 10ml of hot water to the soap power.
3. Using hands, compress the soap into back into a ball.
4. Cut-off a short length or rope and make a loop tying the ends or the short length.
5. Form the soap ball around the knot of the small loop or rope.
6. Compress the ball as hard as you can.
7. Place soap on a rope for several day's to dry.

Additional:
1. Outline the inside of the form with wax paper.
2. Place the ball of soap into the form with the length of rope hanging out.
3. Using a press or mallet compress the soap into the form.

Note: When using a mallet, use light tapping to compress the soap into the form.
