Rock, paper, scissors - active game (social distanced)
Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
Whole colony game adapted to maintain social distancing.
Resources
Queue/waiting point markers (training markers, small cones, tape crosses - all work equally well). Enough for one per member.
Hula-hoops, large flooring squares, carpet tiles... anything that make a 'hop-scotch' style target for players to jump into. (Hoops work well).
Instructions
Set up the playing space as shown in the attached diagram.
- lay out half the waiting point markers at each end of your playing area, 2m apart
- hoops/targets in two equal rows, 2m apart
Players take turns.
Split the colony in two teams with players standing on a waiting spot.
* 1 player from each team steps forward to the start of their team's hoops/targets row.
* When the leader shouts GO they jump or bunny hop towards each other along their row, going from hoop to hoop.
* When the two players draw (approximately) level they stop, turn AWAY from each other and to the count of "rock, paper, scissors" make their choice.
* Players turn TOWARD each other and see who wins! For a draw simply repeat until a winner is found.
* Winning team gets one point.
* Players return to the back of their team's line and the next players step up.
Play until everyone has had a turn or two (or three).
Team with the most points wins.
Get some team spirit going by encouraging teams to cheer on their player or team.
