Description
Warm up activity on Zoom to link to International Activity badge.
Resources
Space to move about, picture of an African elephant.
Instructions
Explain that there are elephants in Africa and they sometimes have to go on long journeys to find food and water.
Show the picture.
We're going to move like elephants do as they travel around.
Explain the different actions then call them out in a random order.
Beavers need to use their arm as a trunk during each action!
Savannah - move slowly grazing.
Hot sand - tiptoe quickly so the sand doesn't burn your feet!
Mud - lift legs high as if squelching through mud.
Watering hole - a pond where they go to drink - bend up and down as if dipping the trunk in water to drink.
Stampede - this is where a herd of elephants all run together - run quickly on the spot.
