How to make a pizza in 30 minutes.


Resources

We have another baking activity but this time you get to eat the results. You will need the following:

Equipment
- A kitchen and oven
- Sieve
- Mixing bowl
- Mixing spoon
- Rolling pin
- Apron
- Clean hands
- Baking tray
- Anything else you can think of...

Pizza Base (for one small pizza, so multiply if you want to make more)
Please measure and chop all your ingredients beforehand if you can, and the ingredients are as follows:
- 75g Self Raising Flour + extra for dusting.
- 17g butter or margarine or sunflower spread, etc.
- 40 ml milk (dairy or vegan works).
- Pinch of salt.
- a clean surface of some kind, e.g. pastry mat or chopping board.

Pizza Toppings
You can vary these according to your taste. You should NOT put raw meat straight onto the pizza, so all meat must be cooked beforehand.
- 2 or 3 tablespoons of base sauce, e.g. tomato puree, pesto, pizza sauce, passata, or anything else,
- Approx. 75g grated, dairy or vegan, cheese (optional),
- At least three further toppings, e.g., peppers, pineapple, sliced sausage, chopped ham, meat balls, mushrooms, chilies, anchovies,

Instructions

Switch on the oven to 200 degrees Centigrade.

Pizza Base
Weigh the flour and sieve into the mixing bowl.
Add the salt.
Weigh and add the butter to the bowl.
Mix the ingredients together and rub in the fat with your fingers.
Then add the milk and form into a ball of dough.
Kneed lightly on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, and roll out to a circle about 0.5 cm thick.
Place the pizza base on the baking tray.

Pizza Topping
Prepare and/or chop all ingredients.
Spread the base sauce across the pizza base.
Coat the sauce with the grated cheese (optional).
Distribute your toppings on the cheese.

Place the baking tray in the, now hot, oven, and bake for 10-15 minutes.
