Scouts to create their own bowling alley and join in a troop game of virtual bowling

Resources

Scouts to collect ten plastic bottles.  If they are similar shape and size - great!  Otherwise, an assortment of plastic bottles will work.

Please partially fill them with water or something so they are more stable.  They could even be ones you are still using, eg ketchup bottles.

Scouts will also need a soft ball or even a pair of rolled up socks.

Lastly they will need some space to create a bowling alley.

Instructions

Families are asked to collect the resources ahead of the troop meeting.

Scouts to set up their own bowling alley using the ten pins/bottles set up as per the attached.

On the virtual meeting, Scouts are divided into Patrols or groups of about six in breakout rooms with at least one adult supervising.

Scouts take it in turns to bowl and score.

Mid point reflection - is the game fair? Scouts to reflect on the different layouts in members homes. What can they do to make it fair?
