"Non-Bake" Biscuit Cake

Description
A "non-baking" session for young people to prepare a delicious cake without the baking part; it can be a bit messy but is definitely fun!

Resources
Ingredients for the cake:
• 3 X 200g of Gullon Sugar Free Maria biscuits (alternative: Rich Tea biscuits)
• 1 X Carnation Caramel 397g
• 1 X Double Cream 284ml
• 4 X Leaf Gelatine (alternative: 12g of powdered gelatine)
• Soluble coffee (enough for 2 strong cups of coffee) (alternative: decaffeinated coffee)
Ideas for decoration:
• Christmas Sugar figures
• Easter mini eggs or mini bunnies
• Coloured writing icing tubes
• Biscuit crumbs
• Marshmallows
• Nest made from nuts, biscuits or cereals shavings and melted chocolate.
Equipment required:
• 1 X big bowl to mix the main ingredients
• 1 X small saucepan to melt the gelatine
• 1 X small bowl for the coffee
• 1 hand mixer
• 1 cake tin with removable base (ideally 7 inch)
Instructions
1 Place the gelatine leaves in a small saucepan and let it soak in water (no more than ¼ cup) for 5 minutes;
2 Prepare the equivalent to 2 cups of coffee in a small bowl and let it cool down;
3 Use the big bowl to mix the caramel and the cream;
4 ADULT INTERVENTION Melt the gelatine slowly over a very low heat;
5 Add the melted gelatine to the mixture of caramel and cream, use the hand-mixer until the ingredients are evenly blended;
6 To assemble the cake, start by adding a couple of tablespoons of the caramel mixture to the bottom of the cake tin;
7 Then soak the biscuits one by one and place them over the mixture as shown in the picture;
8 Alternate the biscuits and the mixture;
9 Keep in the fridge for at least 2 hours (or until it solidifies);
10 Use a butter knife to detach the cake from the walls of the cake tin;
11 Decorate as you wish!
