For this meeting, each Brownie will also need colours and a pen.
Instructions
Introduction
To prepare for this meeting,
• take a walk around the area.
• Identify the route for your quiz.
• You can draw or even download a map for it.
• Identify key items you will need like road signs and crossings.
You may choose to stay on the move, starting and possibly ending your meeting at two different points. If you do this, discussion about the activities will have to wait until the next meeting (either on Zoom or in person).
Otherwise, once the Brownies have been dropped off, depending on the number (maximum 12), they can set up stations with their sit-upons in one large pre-distanced circle, or divide the Unit into two circles.
Instructions
Teach, demonstrate and practice the Safe Cross Code. Materials for this can be sent in advance of the meeting if you like.
Practice crossing at different types of road crossings.
