What's in my Bag?
Resources
a bag or empty pillowcase and six random items
Instructions
Note to Leader: In advance, come up with six random items to call out to the
Ladybirds. For example: hedgehog, butterfly, plate, dinosaur, flower,
slipper.
Before your next meeting, send a text message to the parents and advise them that the Ladybirds must grab a bag or empty pillowcase and put in six random items that they find around their house. The items could be things like a toy, a spoon, a piece of fruit, or their favourite fridge magnet. The Ladybirds will need this bag and items for the meeting and must not tell anyone what they have in their bag.
• The Leader calls out six things, one by one.
• After each word, the Ladybirds can look in their bag and see if they have anything in there that reminds them of that thing. For example, if the Leader says ‘hedgehog’, the Ladybirds can see if they have something that’s either spikey or brown.
• If the Ladybirds find something that looks like the object, they get one point, and the Leader will be the judge. Once the item is used they cannot put it back into the bag.
• Keep going, until the first Ladybird has an empty bag.
• If you were to play this game again, you could remind the Ladybirds to pick different items the next time.
