Description

Running game where Beavers stick leaves onto a picture of a tree trunk.
(Can use as part of a 'trees' evening linked to the Gardener badge.)

Resources

Leaves (cut out from green/brown/orange paper) - 6 per Beaver.
Blu-tack - a little stuck on each leaf.

Instructions

1. In advance, cut out 6 paper leaves per child, each with a bit of Blu-tack attached. Put into separate bags - we used paper sandwich bags to avoid excess waste plastic.
2. Children are to line up side by side 2m apart on a plastic marker. Further markers are placed level with each child (about 5m away) with an outline of a tree trunk on A4 paper at each marker - they are going to run to these.
3. Give each child a bag of 6 leaves.
4. At the signal, children are to run to the other marker with one leaf, stick it on the tree outline then run back.
5. Repeat until all leaves are stuck on the tree.
6. First child sitting down at their marker is the winner.
