Description

Players use broom handles/staves/hockey sticks to play a game of football but socially distanced.
can be played in a circle or randomly spaced.
Players are stood on chairs (or in a hoop) which is far enough apart from other members of the group they the YP cant hit each other with the stick.
using a light/sponge ball the players have to use their stick to hit the ball under the other players' chairs.

Resources

1 stave/broom handle/hockey stick per player
1-2 lightweight footballs
1 sturdy chair (non collapsible) or 1 hoop per player
enough space to distance the players
Score keeper

Instructions

Each player takes a stick and stands on their own chair (or in a hoop)
The players try to score a goal by hitting the ball under the chair (from front to back if in a circle or just under the chair if positioned randomly) (if using hoops then if the ball touches the hoop that is a goal)
The score keeper awards a point to the person who last touched the ball before the goal is scored.
The person who lets in the goal then sits down until the next goal is scored.

Feet cannot be used
Goals cannot be scored whilst a player is not on their chair or in their hoop
sticks must be kept below waist height of the player
2 hands must be on the stick when playing the game
