Instructions
In your hall, line up two columns of chairs - as though they are plane seats - with a chair for the pilot.
On arrival (literally) each child is handed a passport and boarding passes. The leaders are in character as airline staff.
Whilst waiting for the activity to start, the child can write their names on the boarding passes/passport, draw their passport photo and colour in the cover whilst waiting in the 'departure lounge'.
The children then board the plane and we take off.
Unfortunately the plane has no engines so each child must flap their arms to take off.
Fly to a country, get off the plane and sample some food (e.g. plantain in Ecuador, fair trade chocolate in Switzerland, mangos in Thailand)
Get back on board and repeat with as many countries as you want to visit
Options
In one of our countries we built a water filter to help towards the global issues badge.
If you have ink stamps you can stamp the passport on arrival.
If the Beavers have a drink supplied part way through your meeting, you can distribute this via an onboard hostess service.
