Instructions

Everyone should stand in a circle
Adults can join in with this game. It’s time for them to be creative too!
Everyone should think of a bug and an action to represent it. For example, people could flap their arms like a butterfly’s wings, wriggle like a worm, or jump like a grasshopper.
Some people might find it tricky to think of a bug or a matching action – be ready to help people remember the names of different bugs and think about how they move.
The person leading the activity should choose one person to start; that person should say the name of the bug they chose and do their bug action.
Everyone should repeat the bug’s name and copy the action.
The person who showed their action should then choose the next person to show their action.
Everyone should repeat steps three to five until everyone who wants a turn has had one.

Reflection
This game gave everyone the chance to independently think of a bug and share their ideas with everyone.

After they’ve played the game, everyone should chat about some reflection questions, for example:

Was it difficult to think of a bug?
What was everyone’s favourite action? Why was it their favourite?
