Description

Bring in items to fill a shoe box for a disadvantaged child. Talk about the appeal and how it benefits the children and adults who receive the boxes.

Check with your local church, they may collect the shoe boxes if you don't know where a collection point is.

Instructions

Ask the Young People (a few weeks in advance) to look and gather some of the items on the below leaflet or bring in a donation.
Ideas for fillers (attached) can be sent out to parents if ideas are needed.

Watch Videos from the website, https://blythswood.org/shoeboxappeal/ and discuss why those children and adults might enjoy their gifts. Are these the sort of presents you get at Christmas? What's different about their lives to yours? How will these gifts change their lives even just a little?

Filled shoeboxes and drawstring bags will both be gratefully received.
Wrap shoe boxes with young people or just fill.
