Farm to Fork Ingredient Game

Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK

Description

Young people are given different source ingredients and, in groups, have to come up with a suitable, balanced meal, that incorporates all the ingredients that they are given.

Resources

Paper slips with various source ingredients on, enough for at least 1 per person

Instructions

Each young person is given a slip of paper with different 'source' ingredients on it
Eg:
Cow
Pig
Chicken
Sheep
Root
Bush
Tree
Vine
Flowers

The young people then will need to get into various sized groups, and come up with a menu that incorporates all the source ingredients in their group.
For example, if a group had: Chicken, Pig, Flowers and Vine, they might come up with a breakfast meal
Egg from the Chicken, Bacon from a Pig, Beans from Flowers and Tomatoes from Vine.

The other groups then vote whether their choices are: 1. Suitable to the source ingredients and 2. A balanced meal that works together.

Points can be awarded however: one example is a point to each person in the winning group, and that follows them to the end of the game, no matter what group they are in.
You could also keep the young people in the same group and give them different source ingredients each time, and award points to each team every round.
