Description

All of the elements within our membership badge have a purpose and reason for being there. Teach the Cubs in this fun and creative way.

Resources

- Paper
- Coloured Pens
- Glue
-Rope/twine for practicing reef knots

Instructions

Explain to the Cubs what each element of the membership badge means and the importance of it in Scouting. Explain that every Scout in the world, no matter what country they are from all have the membership badge as a part of their uniform.

Hand each six a copy of the WOSM badge for Cubs the use as a guide. They can use any colour or mixture of colours they like. They have to come up with a meaning/reason as to why they have used those colours. For example they have used green to represent Cubs.

Afterwards practise tying a reef knot using the rope/twine. TIP: This is a perfect opportunity for older Cubs and/or young leaders to teach younger ones.

When they are confident, they can make a loop and tie a reef knot. Glue it onto their paper around their badge.
