Halloween Pumpkin (Guide crafts)

Resources

- Orange wool
- Pompom maker or two circles of cardboard with smaller circle out at the centre (see attachment below). The bigger the template the larger the pumpkin. A bigger pumpkin uses more wool
- Piece of twig
- Green pipe-cleaner
- Scissor
- Pencil

Instructions

1. Wrap the orange wool around the pompom maker or the cardboard template and continue until the gap is filled.
2. Cut around the outside of the circle. Take a length of orange wool and put it in between the cut edges. Pull it tight so it secures all the yarn pieces and tie it in knot. Cut it to the same length as the other pieces.
3. Take the pipe-cleaner and wrap it around a pencil.
4. Take the glue gun and attach the twig making the stalk and add the pipe cleaner alongside the stalk.

Further development of the activity:
You could make more pumpkin and attach them onto a string of battery-operated lights to make a Halloween garland. Pompoms can be used for lots of different things, let the girls get creative.
