Description

Make a Dreamboard for the year Ahead: Why not get your Guides involved in planning the year ahead using a Dreamboard. This will give the girls goals to set and a sense of achievement as the goals are completed.

Resources

- A4 and A3 sheets of papers
- post-its
- old newspapers, magazines, local tourist brochures
- list of Choice Challenges and Interest & Special Focus Badges (you could limit the choice of these to a few) - use the Guide Leader Journey Planner for reference

Instructions

- Explain to the Guides what you are going to do.
- Allocate some time and do some brainstorming.
- Then ask each girl to think about what she would like to do and to use the materials provided to help design the board.
- The girls can use cuttings from newspapers etc. or they can draw pictures to represent what they would like to do.
- Ask each girl to design her own A3 sheet.
- Then, all come together and vote on the top activities that they wish to achieve during the year.
- Put the result onto a Unit Dreamboard. This can be checked regularly to see what progress is made in achieving the set goals.

• Badges the girls would like to complete
• Weekend away destination (pending regulations)
• Camp indoor/outdoor (pending regulations)
• Christmas activity
• Service project
• Fundraising ideas
• Day out ideas
• End of year activity
• Anything else that the Leaders and the girls may come up with
