Instructions

Ask the children why they think skipping is good for you?
Some ideas:
exercises lots of muscles in the body
improves footwork
improves co-ordination
speeds up heart rate so keeps heart healthy
it's fun and keeps you feeling happy!

Ask who can skip? Say that we'll help those who can't skip yet to start to learn.

Split into even teams and line up one behind the other.
Child at the front has a pair of skipping ropes.
Each child skips to a defined point and back then hands the ropes to the next child.
Winning team is the first team where all have skipped and are sitting down.
