A fun treasure hunt to get the Cubs thinking and working together.

Resources

A combination padlock for each team - number the padlocks
Treasure chests that can be locked using the padlocks.
Loot - we did this in December so the Cubs had selection boxes
Extra adults

Instructions

Preparation
A walk of the local area collecting numbers that can be used in the treasure hunt.
Plan a route, slightly different for each team taking them from point to point collecting their numbers that will make up the code for their padlock.

On the night
Loot needs to be locked into the treasure chests.
Split Cubs into teams, we kept them in their sixes.
Each team starts from the Scout Hut and go off in different directions on their hunt with an adult with each team.
When the Cubs have collected all of their numbers they are to return to the Scout Hut and work out the code to unlock the padlocks and free their loot!

Hot chocolate and whipped cream will be served when they get back.
