This is an activity aimed at the Beavers and Cubs sections and will teach young people about what you can and can't recyle and also what recycled items are turned into

Resources

The resources provided printed
Some clean rubbish - a mixture of different materials and what can and can't be recycled
A suitable risk assessment - young people will be handling waste so make sure it's safe

Instructions

You can split this into two parts

The first part would be separating your rubbish into recyclable and non-recyclable piles, you can then separate further by separating the piles into how your council takes recycling. For example, separating into paper, plastic and metal


The second portion can be taking the recyclable items and taking them to the pages in the PDF of what they think those items can be recycled into
