Instructions

It is advisable to watch the YouTube link before the guide meeting. It is 7 minutes long.
Ask the guides to watch the YouTube video – It is child friendly.
The Leader can pause the video and discuss each stress issue if she
wishes.

Notes for Leaders: Examples of strategies for coping with stress shown
on the video.
1. Change what you can control, not what you cannot e.g. forthcoming
class test / exam
2. Manage your time - e.g., do not look at TV for an hour if you have homework to do
3. Take care of your body - good food, plenty of sleep and exercise
4. Talk to a friend / adult
5. Be positive about yourself - I can do this!

- Discuss what is stress?
- Identify signs of stress in other people (less personal than talking about themselves)
- Do they know what causes stress for them?
- Recap on the 5 points above.
- Who can help them to manage their stress?
