Instructions
Talk about Roman Gods and Janus in particular (see briefing document).
Have they made any New Year resolutions?
What are they?
Are they for their own good or the good of others (or both)?
In Lodges/ Sixes, identify at least 3 new year's resolutions of which at least one must be for the good of others or the planet. Sixer or lodge leader reports
Play Janus and Juno (Stick in the mud rebranded)
Juno is the chaser. If she catches you, stand with feet apart until someone crawls through to release you. You are making a doorway (Janus is the God of Doorways).
Next hand out masks and craft materials. Decorate the masks with collage or colouring. Cut out using scissors if desired.
The masks are happy or sad depending on which way up you hold them. If a beard is added it becomes hair, &c. Gods are not human, so masks can be decorated in extravagant colours & designs.
Optionally use as an opportunity to set Personal Challenge, e.g., learn to tie shoelaces properly by the end of term, learn to roll scarf properly and do so before each meeting.
