Description

Cubs are split into groups and go around each activity after approx15- 20minutes depending on group size and time. They can do the activity in pairs or individually.


Resources

Wash a window from the venue or could be a car.
*Bucket, sponge squeegee with water supply
*Access to window
*detergent (optional)
*dry cloth or towel
mop or towel if indoors

Do up a tie-tie shoe lace-friendship knot
*Tie

Simple sewing a glass case
*Plastic safety needles
*Wool
*Pack of felt

Lay a table and change a lamp
*table cloth
*2 x chairs
*2 x plates
*2 x knives, forks, spoons
*lamp and bulb, optional if using electric to test( extension lead with surge protection )


Instructions

Set out activity stations at your venue.
Have at least one Adult helper/young leader per station.

Wash a window
Using a bucket of water and a sponge. Clean the window and then use the squeegee to take of water and dry any excess water with a towel or cloth.

Do up a tie, shoelace, make a friendship knot.
This can be done individually or on another cub

Lay a table
Layout a table as you would if you were serving someone.
place cutlery around the plate and push the chairs in.

Change lightbulb
Decide whether you can run safely if using electricity to test
Turn off all switches
Take bulb out
Replace or put the same bulb back in
Switch on the appliance to test (if using electric)

Sewing.
Get cubs to make a simple thumb knot, thread wool through the needle eye, pierce the fabric to start sewing. Sew a simple running stitch along the fabric to make a pouch or practice on a single piece of felt.

With sewing, cubs may need to take away to finish off.

Rotate stations after 15 minutes based on 3-4 cubs in group.
