Visit a local timber merchant for suitable lengths of timber. As of 02-02-2022, Wickes stock the following timber in the suggested dimensions:
Dimensions: L: 2400mm (2.4m) x W: 119mm x D: 20.5mm
Cut Size: 35.5cm (355mm)
Using the above, a 2.4 metre (2400mm) length of timber will give 6 lengths of 35.5cm (355mm) each and a little bit spare. You could ask the timber merchant to cut these for you or cut them yourself.
Suggested Tools/other items required

• Pencil or pen
• Ruler or set square (for drawing straight lines)
• Tape measure
• Drill, including:
i) 3mm or 4mm wood bit for pilot holes
ii) Countersink bit

Instructions to be demonstrated by a leader in stages (based on suggested timber dimensions).
1) Mark 5cm from one end and draw a straight line across
2) Cut the 5cm block off
3) Mark 10cm from other end and draw a straight line across
4) Mark 12cm from same end and draw a straight line across
5) Do not cut the 10/12cm lines
6) Above 10cm line, at the end, mark roughly 2cm in from each side
7) Mark the dead centre of 10cm line (roughly 6cm on 119mm timber)
8) Draw a V and cut the lines to make a V shape. Do not cut past 10cm line
9) On the 12cm line, mark 3 places for screws (3, 6 and 9cm)
10) Clamp 5cm block onto the 12cm line (underneath)
11) Drill pilot holes through the screw marks and then through 5cm block
12) Countersink (can stop wood from splitting)
13) Screw together
14) Optional: use sandpaper to rub pencil lines off or paint straight over with waterproof paint
