Hockey puck
Hockey sticks
Four benches
Instructions
Game play:
Set one bench up on its side in each corner of the hut and allocate a patrol to each corner.
Number the patrol from 1 (oldest) to the number of the biggest team (youngest). If a team is smaller, then the highest numbered (youngest) player holds more than one number.
Place the puck in the centre of the hall and give one hockey stick to each team.
The score keeper calls a number. This player takes their team's stick and comes onto the pitch. The objective is to defend your goal and score in another trams goal.
Once a goal is scored the puck is reset and players return to their corner.
The score keeper will keep a record of which numbers have been called and ensure am even number of turns for each number.
The team with the least goals score against them at the end of the game is the winner.
Rules:
No physical contact is permitted
The puck must remain on the floor whilst in play
Hockey sticks may not be raised above knee height
If the puck leaves the pitch possession goes to the patrol which has its goal in the quadrant that the puck was last in
If the puck gets stuck at the side of the hut, the score keeper or referee will determine which team had possession last and all other teams must return to their quadrants
Infringement of the rules may result in penalty points awarded against a patrol, a time out or a red card.
Variations:
The score keeper can choose to call two numbers at once, in which case two players go onto the pitch. They should make sure each team has two hockey sticks before doing this. They should also ensure that this will not result in an over crowded pitch and that players obey the no physical contact rule.
