Instructions
Everyone should split into small groups.
Each group should discuss ways that people can live healthily (using the diagram to show how things are linked / can be linked). The person leading the activity should go between the groups and offer clues (e.g. exercising, eating healthy food, sleeping enough, smoking, alcohol).
If you have more than one leader, each group could have their own to help them come up with ideas and summarise the group’s thoughts. The leader should use the ‘Healthy lifestyles info’ fact sheet to help.
Each group should pick an important healthy lifestyle choice from the ones they talked about. Groups are allowed to pick the same lifestyle choice as other groups, if they wish.
Each group should take some time to plan out a scenario that they will act out together. The scenario should last no more than two minutes and each member of each group should have a role in the performance. Each scenario should be about the important healthy lifestyle choice that the group has chosen and how it helps somebody.
The person leading the activity should continue to go between the groups as they plan out their two-minute scenarios. Make sure that each group has no more than fifteen minutes to prepare and that each group member has a role. If there’s anyone who would prefer not to act, they could narrate. If anyone would prefer not to speak, they could be given a silent role.
Give each group another five or ten minutes to rehearse their scenarios amongst themselves and make any changes they’d like to make.
The person leading the activity should invite each group to act out their scenario to the rest of the group. While a group is acting, the rest of the young people should try to guess which healthy lifestyle choice is being acted out.
