Description

Using different coloured Smarties as an analogy for people with different outward appearance, demonstrate we're all the same under the skin

Resources

Packet of Smarties
2 bowls
Jug of water
Spoon
Sieve or colander

Instructions

Put the Smarties in one bowl, ask the cubs which colour is their favourite.
Ask a cub to pour water into the bowl, then ask a few cubs to stir it around.
Drain the water off using the sieve - ask the cubs to describe the Smarties now.
Make the point that, like people, Smarties are all the same underneath. The colour on the surface (or height, hair colour, accent etc. etc.) is irrelevant. It's what's underneath that matters.

If they really want, let them eat the soggy Smarties (subject to lack of allergies etc.)
