Description
Make an Olympic Medal with clay
Resources
Air-Dry Clay, rolling pin, cookie cutters, ribbon, paint and brushes, greaseproof paper, something to make a design (we used very large nails and/or cocktail sticks)
Instructions
Roll out the Air-Dry Clay (not too thin as it tears easily) Give each child a piece of greaseproof paper to prevent the clay sticking to the table, this also allows you to pick it up better. Cut medals with cookie cutter, we used a plain circle, a circle with crinkly edges and a star and give each child whichever shape they want. Scratch a design into the clay with the nail or the cocktail stick and then make a hole at the top with the nail. Leave to dry until the next week and then paint and thread ribbon through the hole.
