Description

A simple yet affective version to the already very popular and fun activity known as the Trading Post where children are split into groups to compete for completing tasks in exchange for money.



This activity is ideal for use in conjunction with the money skills activity badges.

Resources

Rope for reef knots

Toilet rolls for mummy wrapping

Pen and paper for drawing/writing and making paper aeroplanes

Spaghetti and marshmallows for tall towers

Instructions

Attached are 2 documents a buy and a selling checklist.

The buying checklist should be used for completed activities to be bought by the trading post.

The selling checklist should be used for a base where a leader would act as the trading post for selling materials such as rope or toilet rolls.



The children should be split into equal groups. Each group can be giving a starting budget or not depending on how difficult you would like the start of the game to be.

Materials can be resold to the trading post in full or reduced quantity for a partial refund.



Whichever group at the end of the game with the most in their bank is the winner.
