Description

A game to help teach/consolidate knowledge of 8 compass points. Can simplify to cover just 4 points or extend to include things like NNW etc.

8 cones, ball, bin. Something to keep track of scoring.

Instructions

Set out the cones in a circle at the 8 compass points (N,NE,E,SE,S,SW,W,NW) with the bin located in the middle. The team of scouts have a maximum of 30 attempts to score a point. Scouts take it in turn. Leader calls out a direction, the scout (with the ball) goes to that cone. If correct, they can try to throw the ball into the bin. If it goes in, they get a point. Can run as part of a multi-station meeting, with teams competing against each other.
