Instructions
Explain to the girls that if someone is hurt and they want to help them, they must make sure that they are safe themselves to or otherwise there could be 2 people needing help.
Examples – if you are playing on your bicycles and your friend falls of and is upset. Before running to get her parents – make sure there are no cars around and that its safe.
Teach the girls to count 1,2,3 and act. This few seconds allows just enough time for your brain to assess what needs to be done and cut down on mistakes.
Practise taking deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth, this can have a calming effect on the body. Remember – short breaths in and longer breaths out.
Play the Beans Games or another action game like Simon Says. Explain to the girls that before they do the action, they must Stop and think. So if you call Jelly Beans – the girls must either deep breath or count 1,2,3, and act.
