Instructions
Measure and cut 4 strips 15x20x150
Mark 15mm back from each end and 10mm down from the top edge (half way down the side)
(please note the strips need to be orientated as a tall rectangle 20mm high and 15mm wide)
Using a hand saw cut down from the top edge to the center line at both ends (across the strip)
Using a chisel remove the small square of wood by placing the chisel at the end of the strip on the center line and tapping with a mallet
Using a file clean each joint so that the frame is square and flush
Glue the four strips together to form a frame
Glue and pin (or screw) the 150x150 square base to the frame
Now cut a number of strips to fill the inside of the frame to form a pattern (all strips need to be a tall rectangle 20mm tall, 15mm wide)
File and sand to fit then glue each piece into the frame
Mix sawdust and PVA together to make a filler and fill any gaps
Once dry, sand flat and smooth
Add any varnish, decoration or paint as required.
