Description

Beavers search campsite, with the use of a map, in the dark/dusk
At each point, they find and collect glow sticks attached to a card.
Come back to the tent circle and trade to make a set of cards
Decide what they need to trade now for goods, or save for other activities next day

A leader needs to purchase a camp blanket or arrange with the camp shop to allow Beavers to come and trade the vouchers for a badge up to that value.

Instructions

1 - Each Card (£1, 50p, Sweets, Drink & Biscuits) are attached to a Glowstick and Ribbon.

2 - Each Glow Stick is attached, and activated, to a tree or items at a point on a map. NOTE: Mix up the cards, so Beavers cannot collect all the badges to make a set, we want them to have at least 1 set of a matching pair.

3 – Beavers are given a map, with points marked, then sent to find the 5 points. Find a glow stick and head to the next point.

4 – When they have found the 5 points, they come back to the tent circle.

5 – At the Tent circle, Beavers need to check what cards they found; then find out what they NEED to swap/trade a double card with someone who has the card you do not have;

Beaver 1
1 x £1, 2 x 50p, 1 x drink, 1 x Biscuits, 0 x Sweets
Beaver 2
1 x £1, 0 x 50p,1 x drink, 1 x drink, 1 x Biscuits, 2 x Sweets
Actions Beaver 1 swaps 1 x50p with Beaver 2’s 1 x Sweet

6 – Beavers Trade the Drink and Biscuits card with Leader who has the Biscuits and the Leader who has the drink

7 – Beavers “Save” £1, 50p & Sweets in their envelope/wallets (Leaders will hold on to, so they do not lose).

8 – Beavers Trade £1 & 50p vouchers in the shop for a blanket badge to take home (Leader exchanges these vouchers for real money in the camp shop)

9 – Beavers trade the “Sweet” voucher for sweets in the afternoon
