Beavers Section Scrapbook
Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
For our first week back after summer, the Beavers will each create a scrapbook page of what they did over the holiday (ie. favourite memories, activities they took part in). They can draw, write and stick in photos, leaflets and ticket stubs that they picked up over the break. This will then be collated by a leader and turned into a Section Scrapbook, that can be looked back on for years to come!
Resources
White/coloured card
Pencil crayons
Glue sticks
Scissors (optional, for those cutting up leaflets/photos)
Treasury tags (for collating the scrapbook)
Instructions
1. Ask each Beaver to think about their favourite memories of the summer. Some might want to share their stories with the group, particularly if they have been working on a badge.
2. Hand out a piece of card to each Beaver and ask them to draw these memories and stick souvenirs if they brought them on one side of the card.
3. On the other side, they should write a brief description of what they did. Adults should support with this where needed, by asking the Beaver what they would like to write and writing it for them.
4. When everyone is finished, a leader should punch some holes in each piece of card and thread treasury tags through to create one scrapbook for the group (this could be after the meeting, ready to show Beavers the completed scrapbook next week).
Extra challenge: If anyone finishes their page quickly (and has tried their best with it), you could task them with creating a cover for the scrapbook. Useful things to include on the cover would be the name of your Beaver group and the year the scrapbook was made.
