bucket to another, without using their hands or arms.
Resources
Something to mark a start and finish line
2 x containers per team to hold 6 tennis balls
12 balls
Instructions
Game Set Up
1. Tape start and finish lines (use chalk on floor) about 3 metres (10ft) apart
2. Place the container of balls for each team spread across the start line
3. Ask the children to stand near their balls. Place the empty container for each team
at the finish line.
Directions
Split your group into teams of 6 or smaller if you have a small group
2. The teams have 5 minutes to move as many of the balls as possible from the
bucket into the empty bucket across the finish line
3. Before the game starts give each team a couple of minutes to discuss how they are
going to transfer their balls to the other container without using their hands and
arms
4. Teams must designate one person who can touch the tennis balls. The chosen
person may not cross the start line at any time during the challenge
5. The remaining team members must move the tennis balls to the finish line without
touching the balls with their hands or arms at any time
6. Team members – other than the person assigned the job – who touch a tennis ball
with their hands or arms once you have started the challenge must leave the game
and watch from the side
7. Award the team one point for every tennis ball that is moved and placed in the
empty container
8. Award an additional 10 bonus points for the first team to transfer all the balls
9. If the children had fun play the game again. This will also allow them to think
about other techniques they can use to transfer the balls.
