Seeing if your cubs can work as a team and/or lead their team and guide others in reading, understanding and making a budget to buy the correct ingredients to make 6 pancakes.

Resources

A variety of coins/notes for each six.
A recipe card for the pancake make.
A mock shop with all the ingredients and some added others.
A price label for each item.

I have uploaded a file that contains a recipe / Budget sheet, items for the shop, money tokens & price list. We anticipate giving each group £8. rest of money is change for the shop.
You could take it up a level, by getting them to work-out what the actual cost of the recipe would be - i.e. bought 6 eggs, only needed 2, 100g flour needed, but bought 1kg etc.

Instructions

Give your cubs a simple pancake recipe to make 6 pancakes.
Each cub is given a different amount of money.
Set up a mock shop with the items needed to make the pancakes along with other 'temptations' ingredients.
Label each ingredient with a price tag/weight/volume.
In their sixers they will need to figure out if they have enough money to buy the ingredients to make the pancakes, using some/all of their collective budget.
