Squirrel shakers for Squirrel Appreciation day

Resources

Felt or paper cut into shapes
Toilet rolls
Glue
Feathers
Rice or beans
Circles of papers to secure the ends
Sellotape

Instructions

Prepare the toilet rolls by covering one end with paper and prepare felt rectangles to wrap around the toilet rolls. Also shapes for head, arms, feet tummy or use paper pattern found on pinterest. (Older squirrels could cut out themselves)

Squirrels to fill the toilet roll with rice or beans and then secure the other end with paper and sellotape to make the shaker.

Roll the felt round and glue in place. Draw a face on the squirrel head and then glue head, tummy arms and legs in place with pva glue.
Add some feathers for the tail and leave to dry.

When dry the squirrels to sing songs and even make up their own songs using their shakers to accompany the singing!
