Battleships with a W3W twist, helping your scouts understand how W3W works in case of emergency. it helps if youve introduced them to the app first.

Resources

-Instructions (attached)
-Lay Plan (attached)
-Grid refs (attached)
-Rope for grid and stringing up tarp
-Tarp for centre

Instructions

-divide the room into 18 squares
- Place a tarp down the centre so they can't see the other side (9 squares either side)
-give each square 3 words (like how W3W would). find lay plan and paper labels attached
- each member of the team/patrol sits in one of the squares
-each member of the team/ patrol takes it in turns to call out a grid ref, take it in turns between teams
-IF its a "hit" the child in that square is encouraged to "dramatically die" to indicate to the other team they got a point.
- play until the first team is wiped out

Helpful tip- print out the references (attached) and get the kids to hold them up/lay them in the empty squares so they can read them out, and not have to rely on leader help.

This is a good game for Young Leaders to run
