Week 2
Fire drill: exit via the front door, back door, what to do if the room fills with smoke
Ways to put out different types of fire

Kitchen set up with various hazards for cubs to spot (in Sixes) - leave plugs turned off, and safety guards on but tell Cubs to not touch anything and to assume the plugs are all turned on and any safety guards are off - explain that the room is safe and we wouldn't let them in an unsafe environment, but they need to use their imaginations a little to identify the hazards
e.g.:
- blue paper for a puddle of water not he floor next to a bucket
- plug in an iron and put it plate down
- put electrical tape on the cable of a multi socket extension lead so it looks damaged
- if you have one of the square box-like multi plugs, that's a good example - these easily over heat compared to multi socket extension leads
- sauce pan/frying pan handle sticking out from hob
- knife on the side (put one out with a guard on if you have one or stand an adult near it - make sure it's pointed towards the wall)

Game
Run to different corners of the room (labelled with different types of extinguisher) to put out the type of fire called out by a leader, and get down on the floor if they shout "SMOKE"
