Encourage girls to become more aware and grateful for the outdoors and all that nature provides them with (adaptable for all ages).

 Pencils/ Pens (optional)
 Colouring Pencils (optional)
 Paper (optional)

Instructions

1. Leaders should invite girls to pair up if they wish or engage in this activity as a solo reflection.
2. Leaders should bring girls outdoors or to a setting with a view of the outdoors.
3. Leaders should ask girls outdoor themed questions of their choice (adaptable for Unit age group) eg: how many birds do you see/ hear today? What do you like about the birds you see/ hear? How does this make you feel?
4. Leaders should draw participants attention to the fact that we are all connected to nature and ask girls to think of ways they feel connected to nature.
5. Ask girls to make a list of what they are grateful to nature for.
6. Optional: Girls can be provided with art/ stationary materials to draw or write their responses.
7. Leaders should ask girls to brainstorm ways in which we can individually care for nature better and collectively care for nature better.
8. Leaders should encourage girls to share their findings or realisations with the group and make links between common themes, pointing to how we are all interconnected.
